Arthur L. Johnson High School

This course is designed to help prepare students to study mathematics at the college level. The course will include the study of functions, including trigonometric, root, power, logarithmic, and polynomial functions. Units on probability and statistics, vectors and matrices, and sequences and series will also be included. The emphasis of the course is applications, problem solving, reasoning, and communication. The graphing calculator is frequently used to enhance instruction. This is a challenging course. Students will be expected to work well independently and in cooperative groups.

At the conclusion of this course, students may wish to take the Math 1 SAT Subject Test.
